Call and Covenant: The Story of David

This course explores the spiritual significance of God's call and purpose in an individual's life through the life story of David. The story includes David's anointing through Samuel; his tumultuous relationship with Saul; the fall of Saul's kingdom and David's rise to power; David and Bathsheba; and Absalom’s rebellion. Saul's detachment from God led to his rejection as king, while David, a man after God’s own heart, was anointed as the next king of Israel. David's journey, filled with challenges and growth, highlights the importance of faithfulness and understanding in fulfilling God's call. His return to Jerusalem gives us an example of putting Christ back as the head of our lives through repentance and renewal. Ultimately, David's lineage leads to Jesus Christ, emphasizing the prophetic realization of the Davidic covenant and the spiritual application of understanding God's call.
